Two new web-based 3D/CAD programs are available free on the web: Tinkercad and 3DTin. Tinkercad is being embraced by the 3D design educational community for its ease of use. Even a child can now see how things are constructed. Could this be an early educational tool for the digital dental lab technician-to-be, or an easy introduction to CAD CAM for the kid inside us all?

3DTin – no metal required! Sure sounds like digital dental lab technology to me. It’s a slightly more sophisticated version of Tinkercad, but still remains very simple. 3DTin shows how complex items come together as one.

These programs let you play with your kids while engaging their imaginations. Or just be a kid yourself!
